About Me
Since I was a young child growing up in Ireland, I have always loved animals. Whether it was playing with the family dog or riding my horse, I couldn’t imagine life without animals around. When I moved to Australia and started high school, I knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian. For me, there was no other career I could see myself in. And I feel so lucky that my dream of being a veterinarian is finally a reality.
My Passion, Purpose & Motivation
My passion for veterinary medicine stems from a firm belief that animals bring out the best in people, including our compassion and kindness. In return, animals give us companionship, joy and unconditional love. This human animal bond is what inspires me every day at work and what continues to drive me to provide the best care for my patients and their owners. My work also allows me to give something back to the pets that have such an amazing positive effect on our lives.
I have a special interest in small animal surgery, but I also enjoy learning about wildlife medicine, taking every opportunity to learn about our unique Australian wildlife.
My Qualifications & Experience
I completed a double degree in Veterinary Biology and Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga NSW, graduating with First Class Honours before moving back to Melbourne to start working life. I have also completed several placements in veterinary clinics all around Australia as part of my studies.
My Family & Hobbies
On my days off, I love to spend time with my fur babies. I have two dogs, a very cheeky little girl called Roxie, and a very sooky big girl called Cassie. I also have two horses that I love to hang out with and pamper on the weekends. I love to get into the outdoors and go bushwalking and hiking as often as possible. When I’m not going on adventures with my animal companions, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
